We Are Here

For Aikido

I built this Dojo Directory to give a space to all Aikido clubs, regardless of their affiliation, in Ireland so they can be a positive part of sharing our beautiful Martial Art with everyone. Clubs are encouraged to share their events and dojo information in our listings helping to bring awareness to every event through the year. Having one place for that should be a great resource for anyone looking at Aikido. I hope you find it useful.

Meet The People Behind
Dojo Directory

When I say people right now it's just me; Kim. But as we grow, more and more people will take an active part in providing content to our Directory so although I'm the architect of this site it's the clubs & their volunteers that drive the core of this directory, they are Our Team here. Free free to drop me a line and find out how you can get involved.

KIM FARRELLY

Kim’s introduction to Aikido came in the early 1980s through his brother, sparking an interest in Japanese martial arts that would shape the rest of his training life. While he explored a number of disciplines including Ninjutsu, Kickboxing, Judo, various styles of Karate and Kung Fu, it was Aikido that ultimately became his central focus.
He began training under Brendan in 1990 and has trained consistently ever since.
With over three decades dedicated primarily to Aikido, Kim’s depth of understanding comes from long-term, disciplined study of the art’s core principles: balance, timing, connection and efficient movement. His broader martial arts background informs his awareness of distance and structure, but his teaching remains firmly rooted in traditional Aikido practice.
Currently he works as a commercial photographer through his company Two Hot Shoes, previously he was the Irish Head of Brand for Ducati.
He also serves on the executive of the Irish Martial Arts Commission, supporting high standards within Irish martial arts in Ireland & teaches Aikido in Leixlip & Dublin with the Shoshin Aikido School.

How You Can Be Involved

Probably the best help anyone and everyone can do it simply share the site to someone who is either in an Aikido club or has an interest in joining one. That way you can directly help reach the right person and help give them a choice on which Aikido Dojo suits them best. The next best ( and always needed ) thing you can do is help with the costs of running and maintaining a site like this. It’s not cheap as we have to pay domain and server costs as well as covering the time and funds needed to update the coding and content on the site. We also plan on placing some funding to allow us to advertise the site to further the reach of every club listed in it. Accepting donations, grants and other funding helps keep the site free for the clubs and this is our primary goal.

We are here to help not hinder.

Let's Keep Things

It takes time and funds to keep a high quality site up and running to the standard it needs to be. You can help by making a donation or by sharing the work we are doing here. Although we need to be funded to pay for server, domain, design, updates & running costs we appreciate that sharing is also a great help.

If you can help please do, use our contact form on this page.
